Programs and tools serving the Bay Area community
Connecting veterans and service members with environmental stewardship.
The Aegis Initiative recognizes that those who served our nation bring valuable skills, leadership, and purpose to defending our local environment. Veterans lead here, not just participate.
Participants bring military experience in project management, logistics, communications, data analysis, and engineering to conservation work that matters. In return, they gain hands-on environmental sector experience, leadership opportunities, and connections to Bay Area environmental organizations.

As we built the tool, we realized its potential extended far beyond environmental programs. The Bay Area is one of the most expensive regions in the country, and residents deserve a single place to find all the assistance available to them.
So we expanded. Today, Bay Navigator covers:
A stronger community starts with residents who can thrive. By connecting people with resources, we're building a more resilient Bay Area—and staying true to our environmental mission along the way.
