Bay Tides ("Organization," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our volunteers. This Volunteer Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you register as a volunteer or participate in our volunteer activities.
By registering as a volunteer, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use volunteer information for the following purposes:

4. Photography and Video Consent
By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you grant Bay Tides permission to photograph, video record, and/or audio record you during volunteer activities and events.
4.1 Grant of Rights
You hereby grant Bay Tides the irrevocable right and permission to:
- Capture your image, likeness, voice, and/or statements in photographs, videos, and audio recordings during volunteer activities.
- Use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and publicly display such materials for any lawful purpose.
- Use your name and general location (city/county) in connection with such materials.
4.2 Permitted Uses
Bay Tides may use photographs, videos, and recordings featuring you for purposes including, but not limited to:
- Marketing and promotional materials
- Social media posts and campaigns
- Website content
- Email newsletters and e-communications
- Print materials (brochures, flyers, annual reports)
- Presentations and displays
- Grant applications and donor communications
- Media and press releases
- Educational and training materials
- Any other commercial or non-commercial purposes
4.3 Waiver of Compensation
You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials or any use thereof. You waive any right to royalties, compensation, or other payment for the use of your image, likeness, or voice.
4.4 Release of Claims
You release and discharge Bay Tides, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to the use of photographs, videos, or recordings, including but not limited to claims for defamation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or copyright infringement.
4.5 Opting Out
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded at a specific event, you must notify Bay Tides staff at the beginning of the event. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee exclusion from all photographs or videos taken at public events.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our activities, or servicing you, provided they agree to keep your information confidential.
- Partner Organizations: With partner organizations for joint volunteer events, with your consent.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process.
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Bay Tides, our volunteers, or others.

Photographs and videos may be retained indefinitely for historical, archival, and promotional purposes.
